Kitchen trends on Curaçao in 2026
What are we seeing change in local kitchens this year? Five trends that genuinely work in our climate.

Kitchen trends on Curaçao in 2026
We've been building kitchens on the island for years, and in 2026 we see a few clear developments stand out — especially because they work well in our tropical climate.
1. Handleless kitchens everywhere
The biggest shift: nearly 60% of our customers this year choose a handleless configuration. The reason? Fewer fingerprints on fronts in a humid environment, and a calmer visual line. Our Nobilia LASER 412 is the most requested model.
2. Mixed materials — no more monolithic looks
Oak next to high-gloss, marble next to matte. The purist look of 2020 is making room for daring combinations. Schüller's Matera series plays into this beautifully with its versatile veneer lines.
3. Dark statement colours combined with natural light
Anthracite, forest green, onyx — dark kitchens look stunning in Curaçaose homes with enough windows. The sun dampens the weight, and the colour contrast against outside light is dramatic.
4. Integrated appliances
Built-in appliances that disappear seamlessly under a continuous worktop. Bosch and Siemens are now doing serious design work here — no more "hole in the worktop" but fully integrated steam ovens and microwaves.
5. Sustainability wins
FSC-certified wood, recyclable laminate, energy-efficient appliances. What has been standard in the Netherlands for years is now coming up explicitly in Curaçaose customer conversations. This year Schüller publishes its complete CO₂ footprint per model for the first time.
Want to see these trends in real life? Book a no-obligation showroom visit — we'll walk through them with you on actual kitchens, not on a screen.
